The Chartered Institute of Taxation – United Kingdom (CIOT) is the leading professional body in the UK for advisers dealing with all aspects of taxation. As a not-for-profit organization its primary purpose is to promote education in taxation with a key aim of achieving a more efficient and less complex tax system for all. Their comments and recommendations on tax issues are made solely in order to achieve this aim.

Membership of the CIOT is by examination nationally recognized as the gold standard of UK taxation education. CIOT has 19,000 Chartered Tax Adviser members who are subject to the Institute's professional standards and are supported by their London head office and worldwide network of 40 branches.

It also offers different programs of certification pertaining to international taxation. The most popular ones include the Certificate in International Taxation, Certificate in Transfer Pricing, and Modular Certificate in International Taxation and Transfer Pricing. It also offers a three-paper qualification known as ADIT (Advanced Diploma in International Taxation).
